The difference between boys and girls...

Overheard in my car this morning:

Addi: Look at the pretty flower on my jacket.

Logan: Butt crack!

Carson: I farted.

Addi: I have flowers on my pants, aren't they pretty?

Carson: Butt crack fart!

(I did tell Addi that her flowers were pretty since the boys didn't and probably never would...)

Finally! I can breathe...

We have just gone nonstop here at the Goeser house. There have been birthday parties (Grandma Henrie, Carson and me), a preschool graduation, several trips out of town, Utah Summer Games, a soccer party, combined with other daily activities that I won't bother to list because they are redundant!!

This is Carsons preschool graduation. Now I never took Carson for a shy kid but it seems he has stage fright....Notice the empty chair in the front. That's where Carson SHOULD be sitting.

Here he is, hiding out by the A/C unit. There was NO WAY he was going up there. Trust me, I tried bribing him with all sorts of stuff. He didn't even budge for a new game for his DS!
This is his graduation certificate. He wouldn't even go up and get it. So I did. Crazy kid! He just cracks me up!

This is Carsons 4th birthday party. We had a water party. We borrowed one of those huge water slides because there was no way I was watching ten 4 year olds in the pool.

These are my birthday cards and one of my presents. I had to have a picture of it before I opened it because Allan wrapped it up in some old mail and electrical tape. My husband cracks me up!

This is my other present. He wrapped it up in a blanket and handed it to me. I felt very loved on my birthday. My family made a big deal out of the whole day. Not that I'm getting any older or anything...

These are from the Utah Summer Games. Our boys had a heartbreaking loss of the bronze medal. They lost 3-4 in double overtime. But they played their hardest and we are so proud of them! I love our team, we have the best kids AND parents. All of the boys are friends and all of the parents are too.
This is the boys waiting to start the game. Caleb is #19 and he plays midfield. Caleb scored 2 goals which is so cool! We are so proud of him!
They boys trying to get a goal. They work really well as a team. Their coaches are training them to work as a team. Our boys can actually pass which is pretty unusual at this age. Most kids are still pretty individual players at this age but not our boys! They play like they are ready to play for Real Salt Lake! This is the coaches meeting with boys. Kasey Cottam(brown coat) is their coach and he is so great with the boys. He's not one of those coaches who screams and yells at the boys. He is a VERY patient coach and the boys respect him a ton.
This is Caleb marking up getting ready to steal the ball. It cracks me up that he is at least a head shorter than every kid! But I tell him the bigger they are, the harder they fall! Caleb is really good at stealing the ball away and getting it up field so they can score. He's not afraid to get in and take the ball!
Cooper. He is the official team mascot. Cooper loves to chase soccer balls and the Summer Games were like torture to him! He had to be on a leash and we wouldn't let him go get the soccer balls! We are just so mean...And yes, we gave him a green mohawk!
This was our first game we played in the Summer Games against Vernal. We won 4-1. The boys played like rockstars!
We also won our next game against Slash 4-1. Slash has always been the team to beat. We had never beaten them until Summer Games. Slash is in our Snow Canyon soccer club so we really do think they are awesome. But still, it felt good to beat them. Our next game was against Cedar and we lost by one. It was a bummer because we had just beat Cedar a few weeks before that. Our next game was against Real Azteca. These boys are just brutal. They play dirty and their parents encourage it. I honestly can't stand this team and hope our boys never have to play them again. They are big cheaters, they have been thrown out of a league for trying to play boys that are older than what the division allows. Needless to say, we lost against this team. But we have beat them before so I know our boys are better! They only win because they cheat and that's not how kids should be taught. Our last game we played was against Dixie Fire. This team is a really good team, we haven't beaten them yet! This was our medal game. We beat out 4 other teams to get there. Our boys played so great! But we had some tough breaks. We were leading by 2 points most of the game but we got a direct penalty kick in the goal box and so they scored. The other point happened because the ball bounced off one of our boys foot and went in the goal. The poor kid was so upset but hey, CRAP HAPPENS! So they got 2 lucky goals which sucks. But at the end of the day, our boys could hold their heads high because they played AWESOME. SC IVINS RULES!!

At the end of it all, I was exhausted! So were the boys. These are pictures of the boys taken right after all the craziness! Caleb is asleep on the family room floor. Cooper was asleep too but he woke up when I went for the camera. He didn't move though! Funny dog! He had found a warm body and he wasn't about to move!

Carson fell asleep at the dinner table. One minute he was throwing a fit that he didn't want to eat dinner, the next minute he was sound asleep! He is at my favorite age. I love 4.

It has been a pretty eventful and I prefer it this way! We have a bunch of other things planned for the summer too. We are taking a trip to St. Anthony Sand Dunes in Idaho. We will stay there for 3 days and then go to Yellowstone for 3 days. Caleb has summer camp next week. I have a Girls Trip planned. Then we have Allans birthday. Hopefully we will be helping my mom move back to Utah too, which thrills me to no end! My boys are sooo excited to have Grammy and Grandpa back! Keep your fingers crossed for us! It has been great summer so far!

MIA for a while. But here is an update of the fam and all things related.

Let's see, where to start?

Well, last year for Valentines day we bought a motor home. We used it a few times and found that it was just too small for us. So in September we sold it to a very sweet retired couple and it was absolutely perfect for them. Any who, guess what we got?

Personally, I think we should find a better way to spend our time in February then driving all over the country. Maybe next year. But hey, this trailer is here to stay, its awesome. Its a 32 foot Weekend Warrior toy hauler. We got a smokin' deal, we paid about half of what its worth. Even better, Allan and I got to drive to California and back all by ourselves and actually have a real conversation and everything. It was pretty fabulous.

And Valentines was particularly great because we celebrated it early and then I left town to have a quick scrapbook getaway with my friends Nat and Heidi. My niece Stacha came with me too. I dropped off my broken laptop to Nat's hubby Jesse, who is going to fix it and make it all better. I actually used some of my abundant scrapbook collection too, which is an added bonus. Too bad the weather sucked and we had to come home on Sunday instead of Monday.

And speaking of Valentines, here are our projects this year.

The 40 Valentines that I made this year. It was much easier after the kids were in bed and I finished them by myself. My boys just don't get the concept of crafts. They really are just like Allan. I guess my craftiness will never get passed on to anyone in my family!

The close up of my craftiness. Not as cute as I wanted them to be but they are just going to get thrown away, right?

The brownies Carson just had to have for preschool. I made them cuter with a cookie cutter. I really wanted to do cookies but I got vetoed. After all, they are for Carson, not me. I ate the cut out parts. YUM!

YAY! Mom did something right! Carson did help with the cookie cutter so maybe all hope is not lost on the craftiness gene yet.
And now, some random pictures of the kids!

And here are some pictures that I got from Carson's preschool. LOVE THEM!!

And finally, what in the heck would cause a praying mantis to do this?

Answer: A bunch of 3 and 4 year old preschoolers poking and prodding the poor thing to death!

Oh and by the way, Caleb passed his hearing test. He had a cold and they think that's why he didn't pass. WHEW! I also took Caleb to the orthodontist today and he definitely needs braces. He has an interesting set of problems and we will find out more at his next appointment. I'm hoping it doesn't get too expensive! His ortho doesn't think it should be too big of a deal so I'm not going to stress unless I have to!

Scrapbook USA-Girls Weekend!

A few weeks ago, I had a fun-filled weekend with my awesome friends Natalie, Heidi, Subrina, Marylynn, Emma and Trissie. We say that we're getting together to scrapbook but really we just want to get together to relive our teenage years. We stay up all night and talk and do crazy things and just have fun. We also went to Scrapbook USA and it was so, so hard on the budget! But I got some great deals and since I collect scrapbook supplies (haha). I'm such a scrapbook junkie!

Marylynn's adorable baby! She is so cute and such a good baby.
The only picture that we have of all of us together. Really we must try harder next time! LOL

See, proof that we really did do some scrapbooking.

My kitchen in the midst of all the scrapbook fun! Don't worry, they helped me clean up before they left.

Notice what we're really doing. Every single one of us had our laptops out! And we weren't digital scrapbooking either. We are just computer junkies!

It was sooo much fun and I can't wait to do it again! Thanks for the memories girls! You rock!

I'm very grateful...

This is a phrase that I have been using a lot lately. Because I have a roof over my head. Because my husband is still working even though construction is frustratingly slow. Because my kids are healthy and happy. I'm so grateful for the little things in my life. I'm grateful that I listened to that still, small voice about getting my food storage stocked.

I'm going to keep trying to stay positive about everything because I have to. It is the only way I can think these days. Because I know that our great country will get through this.

Things to be grateful for (other than the things listed above, LOL)

~Gas prices! Yay! So much cheaper. Its nice when your fuel bill is cut in half. We own several work trucks for our landscaping business so this is something that eases our stress. And I'm sure its easing the stress for everyone else too!

~Good friends. Anytime I need to whine, I'm so grateful to those friends who listen and tell me everything is going to be fine. They always cheer me up and help me to see the positive side to every situation. They even tell me when I am wrong and I appreciate their honesty! You guys rock!

~The holiday season. I. LOVE. IT! I love Thanksgiving with all my family just there, with no where else to be. I love the turkey and the plans of what to cook with it after. I love when I feel the spirit of Christmas hit. I love the music, the lights, the decorations. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

~OK this might sound lame but I'm grateful for online shopping. I love being able to price shop without leaving the house. Plus, I have gotten some killer deals on Christmas presents and they even shipped them for free!

~I'm grateful that my mom and step dad can fly out for Christmas this year. Its going to be a quick visit but I'm so thrilled that they are coming out!

~My kind neighbors who have made us feel welcome when other neighbors were literally complaining about us nonstop for B.S. reasons (really long story.) You are one of the reasons we aren't going anywhere. Our house will be off the market at the end of this year. Thank you for those who stopped by and stood up for us, you will never know how much that has meant to us.

~Those friends that I don't talk to very often but when I call them, its like we just talked yesterday. I'm so glad that we are friends and I'm looking forward to the days when we can see each other more often.

~Blogging. Even though I don't do it even as often as I like, I'm so glad that I can have a record of the things that our family is doing because I would hate to forget these years with them.

I hope that everyone who reads this can take the time to think of all the things that they are grateful for in their lives. It has helped me with that being sucked into a "black hole" perception that is everywhere these days.

I feel like I just wrote a talk for Church! LOL But its what I'm feeling and I'm sure someday I will be able to look back and be grateful that I took the time to write this.

10 on Tuesday-ish

1. Went to the dentist (again!)

2. Watched my niece Rylee and I have to say she is so dang cute! It was fun.

3. Went to the store to get Allan and Caleb ready for the hunt. I ended up with both Caleb and Carson at Wal-Mart and that is the true form of craziness! Now I remember why I only go by myself these days.

4. Sent Caleb and Allan away for the hunt. Then I sat around and did as little as possible. It was awesome.

5. Drove to Natalie's house. I had to pick Caleb up on Tuesday so I decided to make it a fun trip! So I stayed at Nat's and we had a great time.

6. Went to Sunday dinner at my dad's house. It was a good visit but it was strange to not have a house full of kids there! Carson was the only little one there.

7. Went to Old Navy with 3 very active little boys and I'm still surprised that they didn't kick us out! I guess when you have a cart full of clothes they want you to stay...

8. Went to the mall and dinner for Samantha's birthday. She is so sweet and she is absolutely adorable!

9. Drove to Heber City to pick up Caleb from the deer hunt. Being the mean parents that we are we made him come home so he wouldn't miss too many days of school.

10. Drove home and just about kissed the ground! I was so sick of driving!

***Not a very exciting 10 on Tuesday but I'm so dang TIRED! For archival purposes only this week!***

Ten on Tuesday

1. I walked a total of 6 miles this week. Not too impressive but its better than no miles!

2. I volunteered in Caleb's class on Wednesday and I got to know a few of the teachers while I was making copies in the work room(SNL flashback! Amy Goeser. In the work room. Making copies.) It was actually pretty fun, especially since the teachers didn't hold back 'cause there was a parent there and were making jokes and not being in teacher mode. I really enjoyed it!

3. Allan went on the Elk hunt and I had 5 days of chilling out! No dinner to make and lots of late nights reading books. I was quite lovely. I'm excited for the deer hunt because Caleb will be going too. YAY!

4. Read several trashy romance novels and loved it!

5. Had a few friends over and we ate Cafe Rio. Then we sat in the jacuzzi. Then we played crazy rummy. So much fun!

6. Recorded conference and I will watch it over the next few weeks. Its the only way I can get anything out of it. I have to pay total attention or I start to tune things out. I must have A.D.D because I have the shortest attention span.

7. It rained! I love the rain, it makes me happy! I know this isn't something that I did but it is something that I enjoyed...

8. Kenzi came over and cleaned my house so she could earn money for Sadies. And she cleans way better than me. And she watched my kids and let me sleep until 12:30 pm on Sunday. It was AWESOME!!

9. Loving the fact that my kids are getting older and more independent! I can actually get up, shower, and do my hair and make-up without a meltdown or complete and utter destruction these days. Its been so fabulous.....

10. We had Super Tuesday (like Super Saturday but on Tuesday instead) and since I'm on Enrichment Committee I ran around like a crazy person today. But it was lots of fun and I did get many cute projects done and I have a few to cute projects to finish. I'll post pictures when I get done.

Ten on Tuesday

I'm going to try this new ten on Tuesday thing to remind me off all the crazy stuff I do all week. Someday I'm sure I'll want to remember it, LOL

1. Went to breakfast with my fab friends, Emma, Shana and April. It was lovely.

2. Took Carson to the dentist for the 1st time. No cavities, YAY!

3. Went to my first Enrichment Committee meeting, we planned out the rest of super Tuesday which is sure to be fun.

4. I walked 4 miles which for me is awesome.

5. Finished my visiting teaching for the month. YAY done a week earlier than usual!

6. Went to Caleb's soccer game. It was a tie. They played awesome, the best I've seen them play to date.

7. Went to church and watched the primary program and bawled like a baby off and on the whole time. LOVED IT!

8. Kenzi came over this weekend and as a punishment for lying to me, I made her clean the playroom. I'm sure she'll never lie again after that, LOL!

9. Played crazy rummy with Tia, Stacha and Kenz. I won.

10. Helped Nicki plan the ultimate scrapbook room for Nat. I wished that I lived up there so that I could have helped her! It was cool to be included even though I live 300 miles away.

That was my last week in a nutshell.

I'm baack!

OK, this post is going to be of many random things so just bear with me, ok?! I'm just overflowing with thought!

First of all, I love Sara Palin!

I think she is an awesome choice for VP! I love that a woman that I can relate to will (hopefully) be in the White House! She has a family, she is a hockey mom, and she loves her husband. Wow, what a concept! Finally, someone in this race that I can stomach...she is the perfect choice. I wish she was running for president. I would be out on the streets campaigning for her! LOVE HER! She is what politics should be. OK I feel better, I have wanted to post that for weeks!

I know, I know, you want to know about my cruise. Well, we had a great time! But in the same breath, I don't really love the cruising thing. Its too scheduled for me. Be on the boat at 4. Dinner is at 8. Blah blah blah! Plus, everything on the boat is just too damn expensive. No thanks! Give me a hotel with a beach front any day. Cruising just ain't for me.

OK the funniest thing happened the first night at dinner. We all ordered shrimp cocktail and Allan was like "why is there only 4 shrimp on the plate, there should be 10." So he tells this to our waiter and the waiter says "you want 10, I'll bring you 10" and instead of 10 shrimp on a plate, he brought out 10 plates of shrimp! So we are all laughing our butts off eating shrimp because there was no way we were going to let all that good shrimp go to waste!

MMMM....Shrimp

Anywho, we went to San Diego on Tuesday. We went to Sea World and that was pretty dang cool. Those animals have got talent! I think this was the most fun that we had on the whole cruise. I'm not gonna lie, amusement parks without your kids are way more fun!

Loving those sharks!

Taking the pink flamingos for a walk. Does anyone know why pink flamingos are pink? Because they eat shrimp...We have decided that Allan should be pink too from all the shrimp he ate the night before.

The coolest looking lizard I have ever seen. And no, I didn't touch it.

The second day of the cruise, we went to Catalina Island. We went on a tour of the island and then to the Wrigley Memorial Bontanical Gardens. The island is very pretty. If you want to spend a fortune on a t-shirt and a meal, this is the place to go! HAHA, just kidding. I'm sounding a little cheap in this post but those who know me know that's not true. OK, back to Catalina. After the tour we went and played on the beach. It was the smallest beach I have ever seen! But it was cool to just chill out and get a tan while my husband played in the ocean like a little boy. Honestly, I have never seen Allan as happy as he is when he gets near the ocean. It is hilarious!

Allan and me on the tour. We were the youngest people on the tour by like 40 years, LOL. Even the bus driver didn't believe we were on the tour. He said we were way to young, HAHA!
We love those pretty flowers! If my hubby wasn't a landscaper, I would worry about what his love of flowers meant...
Insert joke here. I know that we made a whole bunch!

Up on Wrigleys Memorial. Nate, Andrea, me and Allan. Aren't we just so hot?
In front of the cool looking fountain. Those are all handmade tiles. I think they are nifty.

The next day we were in Ensenada, unfortunately. It was lame. We went back to the ship and took a nap. Later that night, Allan and I went to karaoke and it was so funny to watch! Seriously, I was laughing so hard that I had tears running down my face. People will do anything for attention that's all I can say! After listening to the many "talented" singers we went to a comedy show and the guy was actually pretty funny. Then we realized it was like 2 in the morning and we had to be up at 6 to go home so we went to bed. End of cruise. Drive for 7 hours. Then we were home!

To be continued.....
