Carson's birthday (a day early, 'cause we'll be playing tomorrow!)

How in the world did my baby get to be 3 years old? Here is a preview of his life so far!

Thanks for all the laughter (from the cute things you say and do), the tears (from the destruction of my house, especially the time with the sharpie) and all the joy that you bring to our family. Thank you for being such a wonderful baby. And thank you for being so sweet. And thank heavens that we are finally out of the terrible two's because you glorified it to a level that I didn't know existed! Let's give a big cheer for turning 3! HUGS and KISSES!! We love you Carson!

YAY! A girls night out!

On Friday, I got to go out and play! YAY! We had so much fun! We went to an awesome japanese steak house, yummy... and then we went out for ice cream. We giggled, told those stories you would only tell your closest friends (of course I blog all my embarassing moments, I'm strange that way), and ate until we hurt and then we ate some more.

So thanks Shana, Emma and Marci for a much needed time out! You guys are awesome!

The Biggest Reason That I Don't Leave The House

I love to shop. I love to shop and find all the bargins. I love to buy clothes and toys for my kids. I'm am a shopping addict. Shopping makes me happy.

So, Carson needed clothes so I planned all weekend to go out and shop today. I went to a few kids' clothing stores and ended up finding all of the great deals on clothes! YAY! I love when that happens! Carson ended up with 7 outfits and 3 pairs of shoes, 2 rash guards, plus a few odds and ends to match what was in the closet. Caleb, who didn't really need anything, ended up with 2 outfits, 2 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of church pants 2 rash guards, and 2 pairs of shorts. Stupid stores and all their good deals! But I spent alot less than I planned on, so I shouldn't complain. Really I shouldn't.

Crazy, Crazy Busy

Really, I have been. I've been so busy these last few days, but I honestly can't tell you what I've been doing that has kept me so crazy busy! Does anyone else ever feel that way? I can tell you that I'm really, really tired at the end of the day. I can't even say that my house is spotless. Or that the laundry is completely done. Or that I have several crafty projects to show for my craziness. Nothing!

I think that I know the source of my craziness, however. Carson has moved on from being a puppy to become a human tornado, bringing with him destruction and chaos. Its a dang good thing that he is so cute and can justify things so well in his own 3 year old way. It keeps me from going psycho most of the time. I mean you can only clean up toothpaste squeezed all over the bathroom counter, sink and floor, so many times until you want to lock yourself in a closet and pretend like the messes don't exist! But, on the flip side of things, I didn't get to stay home with Caleb, so I guess I should just be grateful for the opportunity to go crazy. Its a catch 22, isn't it? When I was working, I wanted to be home. Now that I am home, well, I don't really want to go back to work, but some days I would kill for some kind of outlet.

Plus, I have the sweetest neighbors that live next door. They are so kind and, as I found out today, patient. Everyone knows how much I love our temperamental rock artist, right? My very nice neighbor just knocked on our door and asked us if we would quit dumping out our concrete buckets on their side of the fence. Now, I know that its not our guys that are doing that because Allan would probably fire them right on the spot. So I go over and look and its our rock artists' guys! Oh and I forgot the best part. She said that they had already cleaned up the mess 2 other times! So, I wanted to crawl under a rock and die of embarrassment. I'm feeling very grumpy right now.

Mother's Day ***a few days early***

I decided this year that Mother's day should last the entire weekend. On Friday, Allan took Caleb and Carson to Father and Son's. YAY! An entire night alone, it was awesome! My very own mommy vacation.

On Saturday, we invited over a few friends and had a swimming party, complete with 2 barbeques, for lunch and dinner. Allan, being the cheapskate that he is, decided that we shouldn't heat up the pool. So everyone huddled into the jacuzzi. I told Allan if he would just heat up the pool 4 degrees, the kids would get out of the jacuzzi and play. So he did and the kids played in the pool the rest of the day. Except Carson. The jacuzzi, in his own little mind, is his very own pool. It was a great day, getting to hang out with our friends. I think we're all coming out of hibernation.

I'm so happy that we spent the weekend doing exactly what we wanted to do. Happy Mother's day to me!

Foto Friday

If only he were sleeping, instead of just recharging

Oh yeah, I have 2 kids...

Lately it seems like Caleb is an only child on my blog. But Carson really does exist, even though I haven't been taking as many pictures of him because the little monster won't hold still for me these days. It was like I was torturing him just to get these pictures! But when your 2 year old son (almost 3) comes walking out of your room in your sexy date night boots, you have to take a picture!
Sorry about the blurriness (is that a word?) but it seems that Carson had fun changing the settings on my camera. Maybe that's why he was so quiet this morning...

Caleb's update

OK its official, there is nothing wrong with him! Well, there is but they can't figure out what it is. Its crazy! I'm not going to do anything else unless it gets worse again. But they checked all the major organs and there isn't anything wrong, so that's good news.

I know you were sitting on the edge of your seat for an update. You can relax now.

Quote of the day...

Being a mom is like drowing in an inch of water. It takes a while but eventually it will kill you!~

(I stole this off my friends blog, thanks for the giggle Nat!)

The waiting game...

Don't you hate the medical waiting game? I mean, I know that it's not their fault that it takes a day to read an ultrasound. I'm a patient person. BUT IF THEY DON'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH CALEB SOON, I'M GOING TO GO POSTAL!

There, I feel better. Aren't you glad I shared?

Again? Seriously??

Caleb's side is still hurting so I took him to the Dr. yesterday. We were there for almost 2 hours because they are baffled about what is going on! OK, just so you know my Dr. is awesome, so don't doubt her abilities, its just that this is a tricky diagnosis. I almost wish that they would take out his appendix just to see if that would alleviate the pain. But I don't want him to have to have unnecessary surgery either. Those of you who know my Caleb know that he is a walking stick, no body fat anywhere to be found. This could be the reason why his appendix isn't showing any problems. There is usually a fatty layer (called some big Dr. word) but because he is so skinny he might not have this fat. Pretty crazy, huh? So he gets to have an ultrasound tomorrow morning to get a clearer picture of what is going on. I just want him to get better. Poor little man, he has the personality of a grumpy bear right now because he just doesn't feel well. Its been 2 weeks since we were in the ER and I am ready to have my happy-go-lucky kid back!

Plus, on top of it all, its the end of the year testing! But his teacher is so awesome. I called her this morning and she told me she had been worried about him too because he just isn't acting himself lately. She said that they would do the testing around any Dr's appointments and to just get him better! I really appreciated that because I know that it is really inconvenient to have to do testing for just one kid, especially at the end of the year.

I'm longing for a week that something crazy doesn't happen. Do those happen anymore or am I doomed for life to live in Crazyville?

Caleb's Baptism

I've been sitting here trying to decide what to write about this day. I can't seem to find the words. As most people know, Allan and I didn't go to church for quite a few years. Then one day it just seemed like we should go. So we did. I feel so blessed for making that decision. Caleb getting baptized without having to have missionary lessons has helped me feel like a good mom.(yes I know that's its not all about me, LOL) I know that there is a lot that I don't know about the church, I need to go back to primary because Caleb knows more about the church than I do,(its true, I had to call my mom the other day because I thought he was wrong but it turns out he was right...) but I'm glad that I am there.

Caleb, on the other hand, has been ecstatic for the last month! He was so excited to be baptized, he patiently waited for a whole month because they didn't have baptisms last month because of General Conference. I asked him if he was nervous and he said "No, I'm excited." And he looked at me like DUH MOM, why would I be nervous? He was so amazing at the baptism, like a little grown up. He listened to the talk that was given and didn't squirm or fidget like he does at church. He seemed to take it to heart. I am truly blessed to have such a sweet little boy like Caleb.

It ended up being a ward baptism with only Caleb and another boy in our ward. It was awesome. I was touched by the family and friends came out to support him. I am very grateful. It made the whole day more special. My dad and Karen came down just to see him baptized. Allan's dad baptized him and my dad confirmed him. It was very special to have both grandpa's participate. Thanks to everyone, we love you!

I'm grateful for this moment.....

My beautiful neice, Stacha

I can't believe that Stacha is graduating is just a few weeks! She is growing up and becoming an adult. She used to spend her weekends and summers at my house and now I hardly ever see her. I guess she can't be 15 forever but I just want a few more years of us hanging out. She is like a daughter to me. I love you Stach!
