Anyone mind if I brag?

Well....too bad, so sad! If you don't like it you can just stop reading :)

Neener, neener, neener, I'm gonna br-ag!

My whole life, I was one of THOSE girls. You know, the ones who could eat whatever they wanted and not gain a pound? The one who everybody hates for being so skinny? Yeah, that girl. As a teenager, I never could find clothes that fit because I was too short and too skinny.(Awww, poor me. And I still thought I was fat, how stupid is that?) In my twenties, I was mowing lawns with Allan and so I could eat a ton and still not gain weight. Then a crazy thing happened to me. I quit mowing lawns. Then I turned thirty. Yeah, the joke was on me! I still ate what I wanted but I started to gain weight. Combine that with the lack of exercise and **POOF!** instant weight gain!

Still, I about had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I got on the scale and I noticed that I weighed as much as I did when I was almost 7 months pregnant with Caleb. And because I don't own a scale, I didn't realize how many pounds I had put on. I mean, I knew I had gained weight, but I didn't realize how much. CRAP! And if you read my last post you know right now a visit to a plastic surgeon just isn't financially possible, so lypo is out! HAHA just kidding! (However, I do think its only fair that I get new boobs. I ruined them for a good cause after all. Someday. Sigh. I'm not really vain. I promise. OK, I'm a little vain. I did go to hair school after all. You get vanity programmed into your brain there! ) Then, when we were on our cruise, we had this picture taken of us:

Do you have a picture that you absolutely hate? This is mine. I won't go through and point out all my flaws, I don't really think I could handle it if people started agreeing with me, hehe. But needless to say, there were enough in this picture to call for drastic measures!

So with some help from the Dr., exercise, and food portion control, I have lost 13 pounds!! Whoo-hoo!

OK, I'm done bragging now.

I'm sure that this seems like a weird thing to blog about but I want to be able to remember all the good and bad things that happen in our lives. Like I've said before, this is kinda like my journal. I think an even better name for it would be my family history. I hope the future generations of my family can read about us some day and feel like they know us a little bit better. I hope to help them understand where I'm coming from when I blog about random things, like this paragraph! (I'm going to have my blog made into a book for the boys) I'm pretty sure they will think that I'm a crazy lady who does psychotic, dumb, funny, awesome, silly, interesting stuff!

And for the record, I want them to know that they are right.

Congrats on the 13 pounds! That is awesome. I know how that goes, having a picture of yourself that you look at and go, "Ugh - is that really ME?" Two months after Caden was born I had a candid picture taken. I looked at it and cried for days. It took me 18 months to lose the baby weight but I finally felt like I got back to "me".
So way to go and keep it up! :)

Oh and forgot to say that is not a flattering picture and that does not look like you at all. When we see you in real life you do not look like that.. You might have needed to just burn that picture...

Awesome, Amy! That rocks. I on the other hand, need to start running again. Gained back 5 of the 12 pounds I lost last year because lately I'm just plain lazy and drink too much Pepsi. hehe. Really, though, I'm super proud of you. And you deserve to brag! Miss you guys.
