Caleb's Baptism

I've been sitting here trying to decide what to write about this day. I can't seem to find the words. As most people know, Allan and I didn't go to church for quite a few years. Then one day it just seemed like we should go. So we did. I feel so blessed for making that decision. Caleb getting baptized without having to have missionary lessons has helped me feel like a good mom.(yes I know that's its not all about me, LOL) I know that there is a lot that I don't know about the church, I need to go back to primary because Caleb knows more about the church than I do,(its true, I had to call my mom the other day because I thought he was wrong but it turns out he was right...) but I'm glad that I am there.

Caleb, on the other hand, has been ecstatic for the last month! He was so excited to be baptized, he patiently waited for a whole month because they didn't have baptisms last month because of General Conference. I asked him if he was nervous and he said "No, I'm excited." And he looked at me like DUH MOM, why would I be nervous? He was so amazing at the baptism, like a little grown up. He listened to the talk that was given and didn't squirm or fidget like he does at church. He seemed to take it to heart. I am truly blessed to have such a sweet little boy like Caleb.

It ended up being a ward baptism with only Caleb and another boy in our ward. It was awesome. I was touched by the family and friends came out to support him. I am very grateful. It made the whole day more special. My dad and Karen came down just to see him baptized. Allan's dad baptized him and my dad confirmed him. It was very special to have both grandpa's participate. Thanks to everyone, we love you!

I'm grateful for this moment.....

Amy that is what I love about you. You do have faith like a child and that is just how you should be!

See Luke 18:17 "Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein."

You are awesome! I am also learning on a primary level and I have been more or less active my whole life. I am just a slow learner. LOL I am so glad that you had such a great day. Congratulations Caleb! He is such a sweet boy and you are really raising him to be a confident and faithfull man someday. ((((Hugs))) Wish I could have been there.

3rd Nephi Chapter 11:
37 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and abecome as a little child, and be baptized in my name, or ye can in nowise receive these things.
38 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God.

Amy, you are a great Mom. I am so excited for Caleb! Tell him congrats for us. My kids are always doing things too, that remind me of what I should be doing. I think it's true that our kids are sometimes sent to us, for our benefit, not theirs. When Bryson was baptised and got his own scriptures, we actually started to read them as a family. It was HIS desire that brought that blessing into our lives. I'm so grateful for my children who sometimes lead me more than I lead them.

Caleb, Congratulation's on your baptism...that is so neat. Conner is getting pretty excited about his in July. Amy my kids totally know more than I do and that's OK by me. I think I was put back into primary so I could relearn it all. The spirit is so strong in these little ones they can teach us a lot. I just need to make sure I'm always listening.
